For anyone involved in pastoral care in the local church including elders, pastoral staff, women’s workers, pastoral teams and small group leaders.
Over the course of 8 modules, students will learn how to apply the glorious truth of the gospel to people’s character and life, in the context of church community.
The successful student who enrols and completes all these courses is awarded an unaccredited Crosslands Certificate.

This course teaches you the dynamics of gospel change. It encourages you to apply the gospel deeply to your own life and to minister the gospel to those around you.
This course is all about the very heart of the Christian life. Living a gospel centred life rooted and built up in Christ crucified, raised and ascended for us, is the goal and power of the Christian life. Learn to walk in the gospel.
The gospel transforms all our relationships. It resolves conflict, and gives new purpose to friendships, parenting and marriages. In this course you will discover how you can be freed to serve and love others with gospel intentionality.
In this course you will learn the key characteristics of life in a gospel community, and how to play your part in forming gospel community where you are.
This course teaches you to live life shaped by the death and resurrection of Jesus. He calls us to pick up our cross and follow him. The promise is a life of suffering now and glory later. This course will encourage you to follow Jesus and let his life, death and resurrection shape your life.
Union with Christ is the centre of the gospel. It’s been called the central doctrine of salvation. This course will teach you how the profound truth of a Christian's union and identity with Christ drives us to mission and joy in him.
What is pastoral care? Who should do it? How does it relate to secular approaches to care for the flock? What does the Bible say about what it means to be a person and how change happens? This course walks us through answers to these questions.
Learn how to care for people and speak the gospel into real lives with real issues. This course is a toolbox. Building on Pastoral Care Part One, it gives you a deeper understanding of the human heart and then tackles five key problems many people face.
Dr. Jonny Woodrow
Jonny Woodrow is pastor of The Crowded House in Loughborough and a Crosslands faculty member. He is married with four children and is co-author of Ascension: Humanity in the Presence of God
Dr. Tim Chester
Tim Chester is a pastor of Grace Church in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, a faculty member of Crosslands. He is the author of over 30 books and commentaries including You Can Change and A Meal with Jesus, as well as being co-author of Total Church.
Steve Timmis lives in Sheffield, England, where he is a pastor in The Crowded House. He is also the Executive Director of Acts 29. He has co-authored a number of books with Tim Chester, including Total Church, as well as authoring a couple all on his own – Gospel Centred Leadership and I Wish Jesus Hadn’t Said That!
